Health and Safety Policy For Soft Opening/Return to Opening McAteer’s Opticians
McAteer’s Opticians have resumed vision care and have started taking pre-bookings . Appointments will be limited to allow for proper cleaning between patients.
Due to the current restrictions which have been outlined by The Government, NHS and our Optical governing bodies, We had temporarily closed our doors to routine examinations.
The situation is changing and we have been advised that we are able to return to a more normal state.
Over the last few weeks, our practice has completed the final preparation for our return to normal hours
ie. 9.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday.
However, there will be some difference in the way we operate.
We are taking every precaution necessary to provide a clean, comfortable and safe environment for our patients and our team. New procedures and policies will be in place as we navigate the process of
Please understand, that because we are a medical facility performing direct face to face care, these policies and guidelines are mandatory for the safety of you and our team.
Outlined below are the policies that will be in effect for anyone visiting our premises.
By Appointment Only: All visits to our practice will be by prearranged appointment only and will be pre-screened for risk factors.
Patients MUST Come Alone or if necessary, with ONE guardian/carer.
Wearing a Face mask is required for every person on the premises including the practice team.
Patients will be required to use Hand Sanitiser on Entry.
All patient and staff temperatures will be checked on entry and throughout the day for members staff.
Anyone showing signs of illness including but not limited to coughing, sneezing, shortness of breath, fever, general malaise and anyone who has been to a high risk area or in contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 will be asked to return when well again.
Limited Capacity: Please feel confident that we are taking every precaution necessary to continue social distancing and scheduling patients at a limited capacity. A maximum of 4 to 5 people will be allowed on the premises at one time. This includes staff and a person undergoing examination. If we are at capacity when you arrive at our practice, we will ask you to wait in your car and we will text you when you are able to enter the premises safely.
Curb side Pickup and home delivery is still available for contact lenses and spectacles. We are also happy to triage eye related problems by phone if you are isolating. Telephone number 07491 979 911.
Cleanliness and disinfection: We have increased our disinfection process throughout the entire practice, to ensure the health, safety and cleanliness of our examination rooms, waiting area, dispensing station, equipment, frame display, frames and front office. This will be done between each patient visit.
