Health and Safety Policy For McAteer’s Opticians

 

McAteer’s Opticians are open for vision care. Appointments will be adjusted to allow for proper cleaning between patients.

Due to the current restrictions which have been outlined by The Government, The NHS and our Optical governing bodies, We have adjusted the way we work.

The situation is changing daily, but we have been advised that we are now able to offer all of our normal services.

We will still be opening from 9.00 am to 5.30 pm Monday to Saturday. However, there will be some differences in the way we operate.

We are taking every precaution necessary to provide a clean, comfortable and safe environment for our patients and our team. New procedures and policies are in place as we navigate the process following the lifting of lockdown.

Please understand, that because we are a medical facility performing direct face to face care, these policies and guidelines are mandatory for the safety of you and our team.

Outlined below are the policies that will be in effect for anyone visiting our premises.

  • Wearing a Face mask is required for every person on the premises including the practice team.

  • Patients will be required to use Hand Sanitiser on Entry.

  • Anyone showing signs of illness including but not limited to coughing, sneezing, shortness of breath, fever, general malaise and anyone who has been to a high-risk area or in contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 will be asked to return when well again.

  • Limited Capacity: Please feel confident that we are taking every precaution necessary to continue social distancing and scheduling patients at a limited capacity. 

  •  We are happy to triage eye-related problems by phone if you are self-isolating. Telephone number 01932 230 303.

  • Cleanliness and disinfection: We have increased our disinfection process throughout the entire practice, to ensure the health, safety and cleanliness of our examination rooms, waiting area, dispensing station, equipment, frame display, frames and front office. This will be done between each patient visit and we ask for your patience if your appointment is delayed whilst this cleaning is done.
